EVERYBODY HAS MENTAL HEALTH.
Talking almost always helps.
Listening always helps others.
The mental health and emotional wellbeing of children is equally as important as their physical health. Good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well rounded healthy adults. At Wynstream we feel it is important to continually promote positive mental health, and also to know what we can do when things aren’t going well.
This year’s Children’s Mental Health Week was from 1st – 7th February 2021. As a school we highlighted the importance of ‘expressing yourself’ and encouraged children to explore the different ways we can share our thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Miss Pope and two representatives of the Mental Health Ambassador team – Harry Vale and Blake Chudley set a ‘This is Me’ competition for children in school as well as those at home and their families. The challenge was to create any piece of art and use it to express themselves and their individuality.
The response was overwhelming, all of the entries were amazing and children from EYFS through to year 6 got involved. We had a range of drawings, poems, dances and some children even wrote their own songs. A massive well done to every single child that got involved!
